Mosquitoes can become infected with West Nile virus after feeding on infected birds. Reports of dead birds help monitor where the virus may be circulating and identify areas of concern.
If you find a dead crow, jay, raven or other bird, consider reporting it through California's West Nile Virus website. It's a quick and easy way to support public health efforts in our community.
